Egnite Eco-firestarters

Our goal is to reduce toxic chemicals that are being put into our atmosphere, and the amount of waste that is littering our planet.

We are doing our part to change the way people think about starting fires and help make a difference — one step at a time.

Our eco-firestarters are made of 100% recycled materials and byproducts — from the product itself to the packaging.

Egnite eco-firestarters are made of:

  • untreated wood shavings from workshops,
  • discarded egg trays from local cafés and restaurants, and
  • locally-soured unrefined beeswax.

Our packaging is made from recycled fabric, such as curtain and discarded carpet wool. And our tags are made from 100% recycled paper.

100% recycled. No nasty fumes. Completely handmade. Locally-sourced materials.

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, we are partnering with and their Koha Jar Project to help distribute free, reusable coffee jars to local communities. The Koha Jar Project aims to reduce and eliminate the usage of single-use polystyrene and paper cups, with over 680 participating cafés and restaurants across New Zealand.
